![]() ![]() What I think will be interesting is that if all of a sudden phpBB decides to have that box checked as default - millions of users across the world won't notice it has changed and then will automatically be logged in to the forum they use - but they won't see the login page or the box again to uncheck it. e-default/Īn interesting point in their article is the bit where they talk about users forgetting to check the box - though really the user could remember to do it the next time they log in and then that's that sorted. Thanks for the links that's a shame but if it improves the user experience I guess there will be a lot of people who will benefit from the change. Good news about extensions too, thinking about what Dave said it would be a shame to lose so many extensions in the same way that so many decent mods never got made into extensions. I think I read there will be a built in dark mode and a few other interesting ideas floating around which means the end user has more options out of the box which I'm sure will be popular, There was also a lot of praise, mostly the CSS layout as most if not all forum software was still using tables at the time.Ĭhameleon will grow on people giving them the opportunity to complain about the next style. I'm pretty sure all other forum software does the same thing now. Prosilver had a lot of of detractors, probably the biggest gripe was moving the profile on posts from the left to the right. If I understand correctly the final product will be quite flexible and easy to edit so if you have the skills you can just change it. ![]() Right off the bat I'm not sure I like the two column layout for the index page but on the other hand if you are removing a lot frivolous fluff it makes sense. ![]() People don't like change and if there is change they want their change. There is a lot of negativity around Chameleon which is a shame as Hanakin is putting a lot of time and effort into it. ![]()
